Especially when things are of the essence – all connections of the RØDEcaster Video S are easily accessible on two sides of the case with sturdy sockets. And then there are other extras!
On the front of the case is the central main switch for easy switching on and off of the entire system. Right next to it, one of the two 6.35 mm headphone jacks for the RØDECaster Video S is ergonomically placed, making your headset quick and easy to reach at all times. The robust, integrated carrying handle also ensures comfortable and safe transport to the next location.
All video and data connections are installed on the back of the case: The three HDMI inputs5 as well as all four USB-C interfaces of the RØDECaster Video S are routed via resilient sockets. An RJ45 Ethernet port ensures reliable network connection.
Particularly service-friendly: If one of the sockets reaches its maximum mating cycles after intensive touring use, it can be replaced individually and cost-effectively – without having to replace an expensive entire system.
Plug in and get started right away: The powerful internal power supply reliably supplies all installed components with energy and offers plenty of power reserves for future system expansions 6.
For your audio signals, there are two high-quality combo inputs on the side, which support microphones via XLR as well as line sources via 6.35 mm jack7 directly integrate. All outputs are equipped with high-strength, lockable jack sockets to prevent accidental disconnection. In addition, a dedicated connection is optionally available for battery and battery operation.

With the SDI option in the Rodecaster Video Case, you have a compact, professional system that leaves nothing to be desired – for a clean, efficient and stress-free setup.
Battery connection with UPS function
What if you were as independent with your stream as you were with your camera? Our battery connection brings this freedom to your transmission. This allows you to supply your case directly from the camera battery at standard 12 V-14.4 V battery connections, e.g. from V-mount batteries. Or you can use your car on-board socket or another 12 V DC voltage source. This gives you completely new possibilities to carry out your stream completely detached from the mains.
Battery operation with fully automatic switching
If the mains voltage fails during standard operation, the control switches fully automatically and without interruption to battery operation. The guarantor for your stream without unfortunate failures.
A control LED on the front of the case signals battery operation. And all this without manual intervention. This allows you to fully concentrate on the show.
As soon as mains voltage is available again, the system switches back just as quickly and without interruption.
And for the safety of the components, the reverse polarity-protected battery connection is equipped with a 5 A overload protection.

Simply plug it in, the on-board electronics do the rest by themselves!
Security built in
Safety comes first – which is why an integrated surge protector on the battery side monitors which voltage is applied. If too high a low voltage such as 24V is accidentally applied, then the fuse integrated in the case housing triggers and protects your components from damage. And just in case, a suitable replacement fuse is included in the case.
Uninterruptible power supply
The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is IC controlled and ensures safe and automatic switching between mains and battery voltage. In order to all consumers are always supplied with the necessary energy.
In order to be able to cover the special requirements for operation and technology, the electronics were specially developed for the BSS case. Just so that your stream can succeed with or without a mains connection!
Matching cable connectors
You can easily and safely connect your V-Mount or Anton Bauer batteries to the professional 4-pin, lockable XLR socket using the optional XLR to D-Tap adapter cable.
And with our optionally available adapter cable for the 12 V on-board socket and the cigarette lighter of your vehicle, you can go live from your “OB van” on the go.

In principle, all signals from the Rodecaster are available at the interfaces of the case. The various internal wiring options of the Rodecaster cannot be listed here. Please refer to the manufacturer’s instruction manual for this.
Due to contact resistances between plug and socket, a certain amount of signal attenuation cannot be avoided. In most cases, this does not matter. However, in the case of very long cable runs, measures such as high-quality and multi-shielded cables may be necessary.
